Well, what a nice Thanksgiving weekend. I went over to Melissa’s family’s central locale for thanksgiving lunch/dinner. There was certainly a house full over there. I had a wonderful time meeting the rest of her family. Then later Thursday, my mom came down from Michigan for the weekend. Melissa made her parents, my mom and I thanksgiving dinner thursday night…what a feast. After a more than filling Thursday, Melissa, mom, and I went to Huber’s Farm (local fav. for fruit, wine, christmas trees, pumkins, etc.) to cut down Melissa and my first Christmas tree instead of fighting the crowds on Friday. After a cold wagon ride out to cut the tree, we were given warm apple cider, what a treat. Friday night, Melissa and I met her family over at Pat’s Steakhouse to celebrate her Aunt and Uncle’s 50th wedding anniversary…it was a delightful evening. After mom left on Sunday, Melissa started sewing a tree skirt for this and future Christmas Trees…she’s such a wonderfully talented woman!

Alrighty, I just got back from Memphis with my buddy Chris. We went to check out the awesome Bbq that they offer down there. It was a wonderful weekend with lots of Bbq and sightseeing. We drove past Graceland and saw most of the city where Elvis called home. It was the last leg of our trifecta of Bbq weekends. We’ve already hit up Austin, TX and Kansas City, MO. If you seek great Bbq, any one of those cities have excellent food and a great night life, well, Memphis was lacking a bit on the bar scene…no idea what young people do there, but Austin and KC were awesome! Here’s a shot of looking down from inside the Gateway Arch in St. Louis last weekend before leaving for Memphis. A wise man once said, when you find yourself unemployed, travel the world.
Now it’s back to the books for the final four weeks of the fall semester at the University of Louisville. As far as that goes, I just finished signing up for my last semester of classes (the spring semester) at UofL. I can’t wait to finish school and start in on a career in some marketing compacity.
Even better than that, I’m getting married to the love of my life next June. Melissa said ‘yes!’ when I asked her to marry me on Sept. 1st. We’ve set a date for June 28th for here in Louisville next summer. It’s going to be a very busy time in our lives during the next seven months, but what a time to remember…I’ll keep ya posted.
